Opening Liberty Shower Screens & Wardrobes in 1996, owner Gilbert Calou and his wife Jackie provide quality solutions for homeowners, builders and renovators with their range of reliable and stylish shower screen and wardrobe products.
Originally a welder by trade, Gilbert arrived in Australia in 1972 from Mauritius, working in that field for several years before shifting to bathroom furnishings in the early 1980s. After spending some time with Dorf taps, Gilbert soon opened Liberty Shower Screens & Wardrobes, plying their wares throughout Melbourne from the same Clayton South location today.
A proudly family owned and family run business, Gilbert and Jackie welcomed their son Clint into the business in 2000, continuing their tradition for quality craftsmanship and friendly service that’s attracted so many customers to their doors. We also proudly give back to the local area through contributions and sponsorship of charity initiatives, including Seeing Eye Dogs Australia, the Victorian Cancer Council, Yooralla, Guide Dogs Australia, Breast Cancer Network Australia and others.
